Cilantro

... is the Spanish word for coriander. According to Wikipedia, it came to American English through its use in Mexican food.

Wikipedia also says that the word 'coriander' has been used in English since the late 14th century; it came from Latin, via French, but its origins may be in the Greek word for a bed bug – "on account of its foetid, bed bug–like smell".
